Our New Device Setup support session is designed to bridge the gap between unboxing your new technology and actually feeling confident using it. In this 60-minute session, we connect with you via video or phone to handle the setup hurdles that often cause the most frustration. We work with you to personalize the entire experience to match your unique preferences, eyesight, and hearing needs, ensuring that your new technology feels like a helpful companion from day one. What Your Remote Setup Includes: Account Connection & Syncing: We’ll walk you through securely signing into your various accounts and profiles so your email, calendar, and services are ready to go. Data & Contact Transfer: We prioritize helping you move your photos, important contacts, files, and favorite apps from your old device to your new one, ensuring nothing is left behind. Personalized Accessibility Adjustments: We’ll guide you through customizing text size, screen contrast, and volume levels to ensure your device is comfortable and easy for you to see and hear. Essential App Organization: We’ll help you install and organize the apps you care about most. Whether it’s for video calling family, checking the news, or managing your email, memberships, clubs, and hobbies. Security Optimization: We ensure your privacy settings are optimized and your passwords are managed safely from the very first minute. Guided Walkthrough: We’ll show you the basic gestures and settings so you feel confident navigating your new device on your own. Why Start Your Journey With Us? One-on-One Attention: You have our undivided attention for a full hour to ask questions and practice using new features at your own pace. The Comfort of Home: No need to lug your new equipment to a crowded store. We provide expert, patient guidance right where you are. *Already a Member? If you are a subscriber to The Connected Life Membership, do not book this standalone service. New device setup and personalization support is included in your monthly plan!
Cancellation Policy
By scheduling a session or joining the Connected Life Membership, you agree to the following terms: 1. Scope of Service My Friendly Tech Helper provides personalized technology coaching and support. We act as your advocate and educator to help you navigate your digital life. While we strive to resolve all technical hurdles, we do not provide hardware repair (e.g., fixing broken screens) or electrical work. 2. Subscription & Payments Billing: Membership fees are billed monthly on the date you sign up. Cancellations: You may cancel your membership with no hassle at any time. Send an email with your request to helper@myfriendlytechhelper.com. Cancellations will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Session Credits: Member support sessions do not roll over to the next month. We encourage you to book your support sessions early to ensure availability. 3. Session Scheduling Policy 5-Hour Window: You may reschedule or cancel any session at no cost up to 5 hours before the start time. Late Cancellations/Reschedule Requests: Cancellations made within 5 hours of the session's start time will incur a $35 fee. We provide one grace waiver for the first late cancellation. 4. Limitation of Liability We provide support with the highest degree of care. However, My Friendly Tech Helper is not liable for data loss, hardware failure, or third-party service outages (like internet or email provider issues). We strongly recommend that all clients maintain a current backup of their important files. 5. Right to Refuse Service To ensure a safe and respectful environment, we reserve the right to decline service or cancel memberships in the event of disrespectful behavior or if a request falls outside our professional capabilities.
